The big reveal - 5 Tips on managing a big Transition

Packing Boxes

I’ve been through a lot of transition. I’ve relocated to several major cities including Boston, NYC and Washington DC along with moves to a farm and an island. I’ve also made three career changes. I mentioned that I was making some big decisions in my last post about setting daily intentions for 30 days. And now I am in the midst of “what’s next” for me and I am relocating again

Why you ask? I want to be closer to family and help with the care of my 98 year old father. Yes, 98! Apparently, longevity runs in our family. I sold my condo and I’m packing everything up. It’s BIG and it’s all happening really fast. And it feels good to have made the decision and to move forward.

There are a number of tools that I am using to get through this transition. First, I always remember the why. I am doing this for family and I’m doing this for me. Second, I set an intention every day on how I want to feel and what can I do to get me there - I want to feel a sense of accomplishment, I want to feel calm, I want to get two things done on my to do list. I often do this the night before so I can sleep without everything I need to accomplish floating around in my head. Truthfully, I am still waking up VERY early thinking about what I have to do and at least it is 5am instead every hour starting at 2am! Third, I take DEEP BREATHS throughout the day. Trust me, it helps! Every time I feel stressed, I take a deep breath. FourthI take breaks - sometimes whole days. And I do not judge myself for doing so. And LastlyI ask for help and I have great friends and family who are at the ready.

This is why I trained to become a coach - I know how it feels and what it takes to make a big change. I’d like to help you make those transitions you’ve been thinking about. Click on the link below to sign up for a free consultation.
